COVINGTON -- Ruth V. Hoagland, 91, of Covington, died at 4:15 a.m. today in Home Hospital at Lafayette. She had been a patient for the past four weeks. She was a resident of Covington all her life except for 10 years she lived in Veedersburg. She and her late husband, George M. Hoagland, operated the Court House Cafe at Covington for 17 years. She was a member of Covington United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Club. Born Nov. 16, 1884, she was a daughter of William and Druzilla Lemon Ward of Troy Township, Fountain County. She was the last in a family of seven children. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Washburn of Rockville and Mrs. Mary Banta of Covington; a son, Harold M. of Covington; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death on July 26, 1953. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert H. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday. --typed by Walt W
